Not surprised to see others who share these same levels of trust and who are comfortable leaving their campsite unattended.
Curious, when and what lakes are people camping on this summer in the Park? Also, any cool new gear you plan on bringing in?

@CanoeClaire we're the same in terms of leaving our campsites.
I go to back country APP to get away from the daily city stresses with people I've come to trust with my life. I'd rather hope I can rely on someone at a campsite across the lake in the event of an accident than fear they may steal from me. Unlike when I'm in the city, I feel comfortable letting my guard down in the Park and I hope that never changes.

There is a special place reserved in hell for anyone who steals from the APP interior. If anyone was ever seen stealing from my campsite...well, things would probably play out like the canoe chase scene in the Last of the Mohicans. Ha.

Boom. Really enjoyed my stay on Mouse two summers ago. Was that taken from the portage from Club or that beach site(s)?
I'll see if I can get a pic up later today.

Last year we were doing a loop out of Source Lake and when we went to get our permit at the East Gate they said that we would have to go get our permit at Canoe. She let slip that they could only issue permits from that office up to Cache but west of that was the Canoe Lake office.

"Oh did we say Source, we meant we were leaving from Cache..."

Permits issued, we proceeded to park and leave from Source.

Bring a headnet if paddling the Madawaska river. Was there last weekend and when we stopped to throw a line in we were visited by thousands of little friends.
Otherwise it was a really nice paddle.

I'm the same. I'm constantly checking 14 days before any trip.
Not sure what the winds mean but checked before my trip on the weekend and it said winds of 27km from the SW yesterday. All I know is that it was crazy windy with whitecaps on the water. When it was in our back it felt like we were in a motor boat and when it was in our face (what felt like the majority of the time) it was like we were not even moving.

Well obviously that was meant to stir the pot.
'New Member', Fish Eater. Hmm...?

Going to grab some popcorn as I'm sure this is about to get good.

The Weather Network is reporting Low bug activity in Algonquin Park. I appreciate the feedback from those who were recently there but this info came from the internet so it must be accurate. Hi CanoeClaire. I read on the bottle that it's 6 washes or something like 42 days, I guess whatever comes first...Maybe just double check before heading out.

I became a believer in Permethrin a few Junes ago when my buddy wearing it had 3 bites compared to my 300. Sprayed my gear on the weekend so hopefully I'll be good come Thursday.
