a bit of rain possible Friday and then Monday. Probably won’t be enough to break the ban though.

I was there in 2003. Slightly more recently than 1978. It was hard to find then. Likely pretty overgrown. Find Jerry Schmanda, manager at the two rivers store, he can describe the spot to put ashore and give you the best chance to find it.

Yeah, it was only long weekends and then usually just the Friday. Ope is nice for the fact that even if it’s full it’s still not too busy. Most of the sites are pretty spread out. Always a soft spot on my heart for ope.

Ope does fill up on long weekends. I spent many Friday’s evenings driving people around on the water taxi searching for the last site on the lake they had reserved.

What’s the difference? Your reservation is your permit. Unless he’s asking if he needs to make a reservation IN ADVANCE (at risk of it booking up), in which case I get what you mean and I agree, he can just get the reservation/permit on the day of.

A reservation and a permit are definitely not the same thing.

Very happy with the Kawartha highlands and the killarney maps. Kicking myself for not ordering the french river one too, next order soon.

I remember reading either here or on myccr that you were also going to release them on some avenza type platform...is that still in the works Jeff?

looking forward to the Algonquin.

I think you've outdone yourself on these maps. At first I didn't like the time markers but they're actually a big improvement as they are very easy to see and count. If you just open the map and look at it they obviously make no sense but as soon as you understand it....boom. Plus the trip versus plan maps...genius.

great job to you and Deki.

Pretty sure the cormorants and Canada geese are playing a part in this along with increased water temperature.

Skid plates are a sign that the canoe came from an outfitter fleet. They’re mandatory on a rental if you want it to last a season.

It’s the same hull design as the Kipiwa but with a flare at the gunwales that helps keep splash back out but makes your paddle stroke a tiny bit more reach(you won’t notice unless you paddle them one after the other). It’s a great boat and perfect for what you’re talking about. Just ensure it’s been well cared for if used.

So that appears to be the secret....threaten a charge back and your map will be delivered.
